Clear Brook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Inc. has been in operation since 1946 and provides fire & rescue services to Northern Frederick County. We are always seeking and recruiting new members wishing to actively participate as firefighters, EMT’s, or in a non-operational status as an administrative member. Free Training
Clear Brook Volunteer Fire & Rescue provides free training to individuals interested in becoming certified as a Firefighter, EMT, Emergency Vehicle Operator (Driver), or in many other areas of the fire and emergency services. Whether you’re starting with no experience or looking to expand your skills, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Gain Real-World Experience
Our diverse first-due response area provides members with opportunities to handle a wide variety of emergency incidents. CBVFR responds on mutual aid into four surrounding jurisdictions, including Berkeley County, West Virginia, Clarke County, Virginia, and additional neighboring counties and municipalities across two states. This results in a higher fire call volume than many departments in the region.
Emergency Medical Services are equally active. Our EMS division responds to approximately 1,000 medical calls each year, giving members valuable hands-on experience that helps build confidence and proficiency.

Clear Brook Volunteer Fire & Rescue has helped launch the careers of members who now serve with departments including Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Frederick County, and many others throughout the region. Even after beginning successful fire or EMS careers, many continue volunteering with CBVFR to sharpen their skills, gain additional experience, and give back to the community.

How Do I Apply?
- Anyone interested in becoming a member can follow this link to find the online membership application: Clear Brook Volunteer Fire and Rescue Membership Application
- Fill out the application and, follow all the steps listed on the application including obtaining a driving record.
- Once the application is completed, you may either drop the application off at the station at: 1256 Brucetown Road Clear Brook, Virginia 22624 or email it to Membership
- Upon receiving your application, the membership chairman will contact you via email with more information on the next steps to the application process.
*Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (16 with parent’s written permission)
